The things we think of at night.

So..
Right. I think it's time for another blog post don't you? I heartily apologise for my last one - I think I need to be saved from myself sometimes. Or a lot. Anyway.

It's been about a week and a half since my last post. Lots of interesting stuff's happened since then. Rise Against's concert was amazing. If you've ever been to Festival Hall in Melbourne, imagine it packed out, every person with a phone or lighter in their hand, singing along to this:

Simply beautiful.
They played a couple of songs I didn't know and a lot I did :D. Hero of War and Satellite are two new ones I've picked up and adored.
The night following the concert was Camelgirl's birthday party! I had to wear a suit and the long hair just didn't work with it. Ah well. A better party than I was expecting, got home around 12 I think. Or was it 1. Something like that. Anyway, Wombat slept over, which was cool.

School was annoying this week, but I gave a cool oral presentation in Literature so I'm happy with that. I don't think it gets marked though unfortunately. Thursday was Wombat's birthday, so he slept over again. Then Friday (yesterday) was Wombat's birthday party, hosted at my house. I made a mud cake, which was delicious, and his sister made a choc ripple cake, which was also delicious (but not as good as mine of course). We mostly played videogames and ate crap food. Pizza for dinner, then at 1030 we went to another party and stayed there til...2. That party was okay, but not really my kinda thing. Still, I enjoyed myself well enough, and Wombat, Sponge, Unkle and Rug stayed over. I'm really bad at the whole nickname thing aren't I?

So today I woke up after <4 hours sleep and had pizza and mud cake for breakfast. I messed around on the computer, said goodbye to the boys and had Weet-Bix for lunch. Then I had a nap before heading off to basketball on about 4 and a half hours sleep. Lost basketball, came home shower blardy blah.

Hmmm.
Ah.

The above graffiti is (or was, I think it's at least partially covered up now) decorating a wall in this beloved city. I spotted it one day and resolved to take a photo of it but never did. I realised today that most likely someone else did get a snapshot of it. A quick search on google images and voila! Hope you like it.

Well I guess I better head off. Things to do ey wot.

P.S. I still have to do Lilah's tag. Must not forget that :)

Tryin' to hold these golden years that're flashing by

So..
I'm fine now. I think I needed to let myself out before I pulled back in. And talking with someone who's so disconnected helped. So now I'm just tired. My body, heart, soul and mind are tired.

A friend gave me Season's 1 and 2 of Skins. I've seen the first two eps and its pretty good.
School is hard, like always. Year 11 now means I've got less than two years left. High school is finishing fast.

New music (its been a while);
Golden Years by Bliss n Eso. It makes me a bit sad.
The Hard Road by Hilltop Hoods. It's okay.
The Downeaster Alexa by Billy Joel. An amazing so, check it out.
Young Blood by The Naked and Famous.
Teenage Crime by Adrian Lux.
Check Yes Juliet by We The Kings. I don't like it that much. I spose it's okay.
The Ballad of Mona Lisa by Panic At The Disco. Their new single, not too bad.
It's Not The End Of The World (But I Can See It From Here) by Lostprophets.
Infinite by Eminem. Early Eminem, check it out if you like his stuff.
Mehr and Weidmanns Heil by Rammstein.
Take Over Control by Afrojack.
Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy. Damn good.

I'm gonna be just fine. Everything really is going to be okay.
You know you want to ;) So do it!

So..
I'm such a jealous person. I can't help it and I wish i didn't care but I do. I mostly I'm jealous of various friends with various talents and..let's be honest, every guy and girl who gets to see E five times a week when I see her once a month. I feel so useless.

I found this poster on the wall in what passes for the drama room at my school. Its bloody clever if you ask me.
As for the picture below, I was putting something in the cupboard, closed it and skinned two of my fingers. The one on the left (my pinky) is literally bleeding through the band aid.

All the crazy shit i did tonight...

So..
Howdy all. We have a new addition to the ranks, Ms(?) mareeya. I am suspicious of this person. I'm sure I know her. *narrows eyes*
Life's been good since the last time I posted. I'm still behind on homework, but I'll get it done...I will!
Today I went to the junior social at my school. It was a hell of a lot of fun I can tell you. I got there late but it didn't matter. Jumped up and down to techno for about 2 hours. So yeah, awesome. E couldn't go though which sucked :( But it was still good.
New music is The Sound Of Settling by Death Cab For Cutie and Love The Way You Lie by Eminem featuring Rihanna.

OK, I wanted an excuse to do my own version of i need you to need me by Erimentha. But I couldn't think of one. So here it is anyway.

I want a girl who likes kissing in public.

I want a girl who likes hearing me sing.
I want a girl who goes to bed late and sleeps in.

I want a girl who is beautiful in body and mind.

I want a girl who dances in the rain.

I want a girl who calls at four in the morning to check if I still love her.

I want a girl who looks better without make up.

I want a girl who is perfectly imperfect.
I read High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. It's a gem of a book.

In English we saw the amazing movie Dead Poet Society. If you can find a copy, I recommend it highly.

Im now reading the book series Dexter was based on. It's looking good so far.
Nighty night y'all. Have a good one.

100th post!

So..
This is my hundredth post. I'm sorry it's not very extravagant, "so sue me." It'll be long and rambling, so you might want to scan it for interesting bits before making a comment and leaving knowing that it has changed your life in ways so tiny and complex that its effect will echo throughout eternity. Because that's what life is really, a series of interconnected coincidences, chance meetings and parallel universes.
It's the second last day of the holidays. I'm not too sad, I had fun. Had a few sleepovers, played xbox, went to football games and saw movies. Specifically, three sleepovers, all at my place, Fallout 3 and Bioshock 2, Richmond verses West Coast and Richmond verses someone else. I went to keep my Richmond-loving friend company, so I didn't pay much attention to the actual games. The Karate Kid was fun, if melodramatic and Love Actually was..very good. I always get really quiet and thoughtful after seeing a movie or reading a book. Speaking of which, I just finished The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessin. She's an amazing author really.
Uhh. I have a surprisingly small number of new songs. Just scan the list if you like, though of course I encourage you to listen to any or all that sound interesting. Just when you're supremely bored with nothing better to do. :D
Witches by Candlemass.
Blitzkreig by Deathstars.
Hall Of The Mountain King by Savatage.
The Wild And The Young by Quiet Riot.
Mr Crowley by Ozzy Osbourne.
The Beautiful People by Marylin Manson. (Awesome drums)
The Axeman by Omen. (Cool intro)
In The Black by Motorhead.
Betrayal by Lita Ford.
All of the above are from Brutal Legend by the way.
Kiss From A Rose by Seal. An oldie but a goodie.
Hard Rock Hallelujah by Lordi. Won the Eurovision Song Contest in...2006 I think.
Blind Guardian's cover of You're The Voice. I know I keep saying awesome but..ITS AWESOME!
Miss You by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Say by John Mayer. Got bored of it quickly but I thought I'd put it in anyway.

So what else? Well, Erimentha tagged me for the Inspirational Blog award quite a while ago. Better late than never I guess. I thought I'd use it as an excuse to talk about things I've been wanting to talk about but never got the chance. Though now I have the chance, I don't know what to say. My five favourite things in my room?

My stereo, which has served me very well ever since I won it at the Melbourne Show when I was..probably about seven or eight. It has a radio, CD player and tape player. The only thing that is wrong with it is the volume goes weird if you turn it down too far. Not bad for a stereo thats almost nine years old.

My necklace. My girlfriend, let's call her E, made it for my birthday. I almost never take it off. Yes it's shaped like a razor. Yes I'm OK with that. And now if you ever see a really really cool guy walking down the street wearing a handmade necklace shaped like a razor you'll know someone stole it.
My laptop. It has an immense hard drive so I can keep everything I could ever want on it. I have a bunch of movies, videos and pictures.

My ideas book. Its where I write down story ideas, reminders, poetry, songs and lots of other random things. I bought it from Typo (great store) and I only ever write in it backwards.
(it says: So much lost, so little gained. Everything is backwards. Bring the whips and rope and chains. The Alphabet. abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog x 2)

My massive book collection. I want to have a library in my house when I'm older. It'd be amazing.

My CD collection. There's about 20, but it's a work in progress.

My super comfy, super warm double bed.

Now, some great news. Yesterday went into the city and got my learner's license. Awesome or what? Of course, I can;t drive without a parent in the car, but still, I'm on my way..somewhere.
I really have to go to bed, school in two days and all. I'm finishing a song and when it's done I'll put it up for you're viewing pleasure. Here's some pictures:

Get it?

I love the little side story with this kid. Very cute. He's a very good actor.
Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) was amazing in Love Actually, I was so sad about what happened.
Very true. Make your own destiny.
The man who said this wrote Fight Club which is one of the best movies of all time. Don't think you'd like it though...
Do it!

A silver chain held up by God's grace.

So..
I have two yes two new followers. The deep s.k.y. and as-yet mysterious Lilah have joined the party. Hope you enjoy yourselves :D
So I had a good day. A maths test I aced, some other fun and shit subjects, pizza after school, library games and then home.
I actually have interesting things to say today. First, please please please pleeeaassse go here and click 'play' on the right to listen to the song. If you really like rate it highly, though you have to make an account so I understand if you're reluctant. Anyway, I think they're awesome and I want you to love them too.
My mum is once again trying to take things out f my room and give them to op shops while I try to stop her. Before she gave up she asked me to go through an old photo album and take the pictures out. It was full of pictures detailing the years between when I was born and when I was five. It was very strange watching myself grow up with each turning page. I enjoyed it though.Uncomplicated, happy, carefree.
Photos are our best link to the past I think. Memories can fade or be twisted, but a photograph can't ignite a whole host of pictures, sounds and smells you thought you'd forgotten. I take far too few photos.
